A few details of rusty old things at my partner's family farm. The whole property is covered in rusty old farm machinery, cars and even a train carriage I find something new to photograph every time i'm there.
Yesterday I finally delivered the commission pieces I've been working on all year. Three oil paintings 80x80cm each. Katrina and Andrew Wannan wanted something large to hang on the wall of their newly rennovated house. They have an amazing garden which they wanted to be reflected in the work, lots of purple and orange should be used.
I took photos of the plants in the garden, cropped and manipulated them and created a painting roughly based on the images. Here are the results.
I've started this blog to take you through the making of my new exhibition "Noise". This will be my first solo exhibition in 5 years. It will be on display at my new gallery The Corner Store Gallery from November 27th to December 21st 2014. I'm creating a series of three colour screen prints with etchings over the top. The works are based on digital tv signal disruption. I have manipulated the original photos in Photoshop and created layers of halftone pattern in screen prints and hand drawn etchings. These are some of the first works being printed.
